The Rosh HaYeshiva, Rabbi Liff, has been on top of his game at getting amazing respected speakers, to come and uplift the bochrim with amazing Purim shmoozes. Rabbi Jaeger, the Rosh Yeshiva of Shaar Yoshuv, came by and spoke beautifully. Rabbi Hoffman, from Toronto, spoke excellently. Rabbi Saks the head of one of the Bais Din in Israel came by and delivered a very exciting speech. All the Rabbis who spoke, really got the message across about Purim, and what the talmidim of the Yeshiva should be thinking about, and what they should be doing to celebrate the holiday.

Welcome Backs In Ner Yaakov

To Rabbi Kunstler and Rabbi Schwartz, who were on duty in America. We hope your trip was fun and successful in every way.

Sports In Ner Yaakov

In hockey, the B team fought hard to stay alive in the playoffs, but were unsuccessful in their ambition to be the first 0 - 7 team to win the championship. The Ner Yaakov A team advanced with a game winning goal by Avner Skoczylas, to the semi finals. Our hopes and prayers are with the guys tonight (Thursday 3/9/'06), for a win and a spot in the finals.

In basketball, the Cobras fell, and are out of the playoffs. The guys say they had an amazing time playing, and there's always next year.

Congratulations to all the guys who made it on the softball team. Our first game was postponed, look out for an update on when the game will be rescheduled.

The Golan Trip

This past week, the Yeshiva took a Tiyul to the Golan. The trip started with an amazing downhill hike, with gorgeous scenery the whole way. Next was a barbeque at the Moshav we stayed at, and off to the Canada Center. The Canada Center was awesome. Swimming, a shooting range, and ice hockey for all. The last activity of the night was driving up to Amukah to the kever of Rabbi Yonosson ben Uziel. Where after heartfelt prayers, the guys started a long and spiritual kumzits. The next day Uncle Chaim Pinsky drove up and went biking with the guys through an orchard. Then the guys stopped by Rabbi Akiva and the Ramchal’s kever, where more dancing took place, then back home to Yeshiva. The Golan tiyul was voted, by most bochrim, as the best trip of the year. I thought it was too.

Coming Up In Ner Yaakov

The talmidim are anxiously awaiting Purim, which is coming by this Tuesday night and Wednesday. The Yeshiva has a lot of great stuff planned for the whole week, seudos, shpiels, and lots of divrei torah.
